Slumdog Millionaire (2009)

This is a good film about a kid from the slums of India, that wins a chance to be on the tv show "Who wants to be a Millionaire." The story is told from the near ending, back to the beginning, sort of a flashback method. The acting of the children, and the leard star are very well done. The Hindi subtitles should have been bigger. The DVD gives the option to have extra captions. I would recommend this film however the violence is not for the squemish. ***

Rightous Kill (2009)

This movie moves along at a fast pace. Deniro and Pacino are good, however the ending is quite predicatble. Brian Dennahey is good as the captian of these two long time police officers and friends. This film reminds me of Death Wish (1974) with Charles Bronson. **1/2 stars
